December is a busy month for most people. So many things to organise or buy. Not least among them is wine. What wine to have on Christmas Day or Boxing Day or when the neighbours come round? Should you splash out or set a tight budget? Champagne or not Champagne? And if the latter, Prosecco, Cava, English sparkling? English sparkling is world class, so why not be adventurous and go all-English? So many choices, so little time.
For Christmas Day it’s usually a question of which red and which white go with turkey. A simple question but no straightforward answer. For those who’ll be serving up ABT (anything-but-turkey), matching the wine will probably be far easier.
For the rest of the time it’s more a question of whether you want party wine or just something decent to put on the table.
Here at Supermarketwine.com we don’t have all the answers, but we can help to narrow the choices. So here, in no particular order, are a few lists of recommended wines that have something for everyone – Christmas Day wine, party wine – including budget and expensive wine – sparkling wine and Champagne.
