English wine is on the up-and-up. Two gold medals at the recent International Wine Challenge 2011 and the buzz of English wine being served at the royal wedding. For one supermarket, it’s the fastest growing wine category.
So it’s quite timely that we now have English Wine Week. It’s a chance to discover English wines, visit vineyards, meet producers and taste wines. If you just want to try English wine, then here’s a list of supermarket recommendations – hopefully we’ll see the gold medal winning Chapel Down Rosé Brut on supermarket shelves before long.
